Montagne Jeunesse Manuka Honey Peel Off Mask REVIEW

(I received this product from Influenster to review but all opinions are my own) I did a brief review on this product in my Refresh Vox Box review but today I'm going to go more in depth.

This product was my favorite out of the box of goodies! I still have probably two uses of it left because I use a minimal amount.
picture from Influenster

This is what the product looks like. You can get it on Ulta's website for $1.99, and you should be able to get it at Walmart's (on the info card it says they can be bought there but I haven't personally looked for it).
I have oily, acne prone skin. I use this mask once a week. It really moisturizes my skin (which is just what I need this winter months) and it also helps with my acne! Now I have quite a bit of acne that I go to a dermatologist to help treat so it doesn't magically clear up all my breakouts. It helps reduce the redness and size of my breakouts immediately after use. I did some research on honey masks and they are suppose to be antibacterial so that explained it.
I really recommend this mask. They're perfect for a spa day. I can't wait to try more things from this brand. I also got my little sister to try the mask and she really liked it. So it's good for all ages. (Spa day for everyone!)
Treat yo self ladies (and gentleman-you need soft skin too!)
Here's a pic of me rocking my mask!
(you can't really see my bad breakouts they're on the other side of my face hence why I chose this side lol)

In Technicolor by Jesse McCartney REVIEW

I love reviewing things especially when I have strong opinions about something. So today I'll be reviewing Jesse McCartney's new album In Technicolor. Let me start off by saying I'm a huge Jmac fan and have been since I was little so take this as you will. I also went to his concert (which I'll make a different post about).

*fangirls* okay moving along...

1. In Technicolor part 1- This isn't a real song in my opinion since it's only a minute or so long. Not worth reviewing. So skipping

2. Back Together- This was released as a single and I LOVE it. It's upbeat and you can dance to it. What else do you need? Heard it at the concert and those vocals *swooooon* Plus I'd so get back together with him.

3. Young Love- Another favorite from the album. I'm pretty sure Nash Overstreet (from Hot Chelle Rae) helped write this one. It's also upbeat and I can picture blasting it on my car radio with the windows down. He killed it live too! *still swooning*

4. Superbad- Another fave. Major MJ vibe. It's practically illegal to NOT dance during this song. I need a minute after seeing this live. THOSE MOVES. I swear he was trying to kill me. (be on a lookout for my recap of the concert!)

5. All About Us- A slower song song. Not quite a ballad but not as upbeat as the others. This song doesn't really drive me crazy. It's nice, not really much I can say about it. Sounded great live.

6. Checkmate- Ballad. Beautiful song. I really like this song. I think it's because of the lyrics? I also think it reminds me of old Jesse that I first fell in love with. So glad he included it in his concert since it's different from most of his other songs.

7.  Punch Drunk Recreation- I think this would have to be my top favorite of the album. It's SUCH a dance song and I love EVERYTHING about it. I've pretty much had this song stuck in my head since I first heard it. It was a great song for the concert! It's not human to not dance!

8. Goodie Bag- This song surprised me. The lyrics are so sexy? I really can't think of a better word to describe it. I'd say it's like All About Us in that not ballad category. Another frequent stuck-in-my-head song. I wish he would of played this one at the concert!

9. In Technicolor part 2- Now this one is a real song! I like the lyrics. This is a fun song. It grows on me every time I hear it. Not that I don't like it, I just don't really know what to say about it. I like it. Is that good enough? Another great song for the concert especially since it was the  In Technicolor Tour!

10. Tie the Knot- Okay Jesse since you asked so nicely I will tie the knot with you *blushes* This song is so swoonworthy. Sort of like Back Together but maybe not as upbeat-dancey. Just a pretty song that you can daydream about. I'm pretty sure this was sung at the concert.

11. The Other Guy- aka the most perfect/beautiful ballad EVER. Boy, do I looooove this song so much more than I thought I would. (not really a ballad person) The VOCALS. The LYRICS. The TEARS are REAL. Grab a tissue because this one hurts. Fortunately, he played this at the concert. UNfortunately, my heart broke. I JUST CAN'T WITH THIS SONG OK.

Target Exclusives-

12. So Cool- Growing on me QUICKLY. Love love love the lyrics. Similar feelings to In Technicolor part 2. Definitely some dancing potential. Also I'd love for this to be sung about me... It was SO COOL of him to play this at the concert. I HAD TO GUYS I HAD TO. I'm very sorry but how could I not? :(

13. Catch and Release- I'm not as familiar with this song as the others. It's pretty slow (not that that makes it good/bad). Not my favorite it's ok. Probably my least favorite on the album (not including In Technicolor part 1). If slow songs are you're thing you'd probably like it.

Overall-
I LOVE the album! It's right up my alley. I think it's because it's Jmac BUT also because pretty much all of the songs are upbeat and fun. I'd give it an A. Sorry to have kept mentioning the concert but the concert was AMAZING and I thought I would include which songs were there and which weren't.

Songs you SHOULD check out- The Other Guys, Punch Drunk Recreation, Superbad, So Cool, and Young Love

Songs you can SKIP- In Technicolor part one, Catch and Release

Will post concert recap ASAP (I highly recommend going if you can!)

Beauty's Daughter book REVIEW

It's been awhile since I did a book review. I've been reading quite a bit lately. I'll try to post more reviews on here! In the mean time you can check out my goodreads profile to keep up with what I am reading/mini reviews!

Beauty's Daughter: The Story of Hermione and Helen of Troy
Here is a look at the book I am reviewing today!

What it's about according to Goodreads
Hermione knows . . . her mother is Helen of Troy, the famed beauty of Greek myth. Helen is not only beautiful but also impulsive, and when she falls in love with charming Prince Paris, she runs off with him to Troy, abandoning her distraught daughter. Determined to reclaim their enchanting queen, the Greek army sails for Troy. Hermione stows away in one of the thousand ships in the fleet and witnesses the start of the legendary Trojan War.
In the rough Greek encampment outside the walls of Troy, Hermione’s life is far from that of a pampered princess. Meanwhile, her mother basks in luxury in the royal palace inside the city. Hermione desperately wishes for the gods and goddesses to intervene and end the brutal war—and to bring her love. Will she end up with the handsome archer Orestes, or the formidable Pyrrhus, leader of a tribe of fierce warriors? And will she ever forgive her mother for bringing such chaos to her life and the lives of so many others?

What I thought:
I gave it a 4/5 stars. I really liked this plot even though I am not usually interested in these fantasy-type books. I haven't read a ton of mythology stories but I do find them interesting. I read all 352 pages in 3 days because I got hooked. The plot is filled with twists and drama (like all good mythology stories). I didn't give this book 5 stars because I thought it was like 50 pages too long. I really recommend especially if you like reading dramatic books.

Leave suggestions on books you recommend/want me to review!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick "As You Want Victoria" First Impression

I'd like to state a quick disclaimer. I was sent this product from Influenster to review. If you'd like to join Influenster where you can review products and get offered to do exclusive programs! Here's the link but you have to be invited. I have 5 invites left all I need is you email! Now on the review (:

Here's a swatch on my hand(one swipe). The color comes off as a bright pink.
I went a little out of the lines here but this has been toned down a bit (still bright!)

I LOVE the purple packaging (its my favorite color)

shoutout to my Iphone 5 camera it's amazing

The lipstick is really comfortable to wear. It is pretty moisturizing for a lipstick. I'd still put a lip balm underneath though. The color is AMAZING. I love this color it'll be great for summer! For more of an everyday use I'd tone down the color quite a bit.
The card that came with it claims to be "more vivid color" and "a burst of moisture". Also that this formula is new and improved "lips drenched in moisture vitamin-enriched color a burst of brilliance".
I'd agree with the color claims that baby is BRIGHT. I also think it is moisturizing. It is pretty long wearing I've been eating and drinking for a few hours now and there is a staining quality.
I DO recommend if you're a lippie!
Ulta link it comes in 24 colors

A Great Big Wold: Is There Anyone Out There? Review

Recently I found a new artist(s) that quickly became a favorite! It is a duo that calls themselves 'A Great Big World'. There debut album called "Is There Anyone Out There" came out this past Tuesday.

(picture from their website)

They are classified as Pop which it is but it reminds me of Broadway Showtunes. My friend described it as "a mix of Allstar Weekend(an old favorite band) and Owl City". Honestly if you listened to it you would understand why I think of showtunes.

The album is $7.99 and has 13 songs that follow:

1. Rockstar-
 My Favorite
2. Land of Opportunity-
The most Allstar Weekendish
3. Already Home-
Least favorite but still good
4. I Really Want It-
Most Showtuney
5. Say Something-
You've probably heard this already and was in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. (probably already on Glee)
6. You'll Be Okay-
Best Vocals
7. Everyone Is Gay-
Funniest
8. There Is An Answer-
Most likely to be on Glee
9. I Don't Wanna Love Somebody Else-
Best Love Song
10. This Is the New Year-
Best Workout Song
11. Shorty Don't Wait-
Most Wait, Have I heard this before? (in a good way)
12. Cheer up!-
Impossible to frown while listening
13. Say Something ft. Christina Aguilera
NOOO I do NOT like this version. I am NOT a Christina fan anyways but this song is NOT as good as the original song but it's probably the version you've heard since its on the radio.

I absolutely LOVE this album despite my somewhat sarcastic remarks. I highly recommend since I believe it will put you in a better mood. I love to listen after a bad day (especially Cheep Up!) or while doing homework.
Also while you're googling look up Allstar Weekend (referenced several times) who use to be my favorite band but is now called Tragic Thrills and still good just different.

Book Review: Anna and the French Kiss

I finished my book of 2014! It is Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

(picture from Goodreads)

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I like reading cliche teen romance (to a point nothing too gooey)  basic drama books. I don't typically like super heavy, deep books. So I was expecting it to be typical/average. I got it for $2 at Ollie's. I ended up REALLY enjoying it. I found it to be rather funny (at least to me). I also enjoyed the amount of French, since I'm taking French currently and know about as much as she does.

Here's the summary from Goodreads(seriously check out this site!):
"Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.
But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?"

It came out in 2010 and is 372 pages.
I would say it is an easy read without a lot of hard words and like I said little French so you're not lost if you don't know the language. It also stays pretty PG-13.

I would recommend this if you enjoy light dramas without it being too intense. It took me about 3 days to read so I think its a light(er) read. I'd give it a 5/5 stars.

Here's a Link to Amazon: Buy Here

If you read the book I'd love to her your thoughts and suggestions for my next book.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Blemish Control

I'm going to start doing more beauty related posts instead of just movie reviews. This product I'm going to do is something I found recently and LOVE!

Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer Blemish Control
What a mouthful right? I received this product in a sample bag from Sephora and really enjoy it.
You can't really tell but the packaging is really green and its 2% salicylic acid. The primer itself is actually clear like most other salicylic acid treatments. According to Smashbox you're suppose to see results in 2 weeks.

I honestly think it helps keep my makeup looking good all day. I've been using it for about 2-3 weeks and have noticed a difference. I cannot say its been 100%  a result from using this but I stopped using my night cream and just use this right before I put makeup on. This product, to my knowledge, hasn't been out very long and only comes in a big size not a travel size-yet! As of now its $42 on Sephora (link will take you right to it) and you get 1oz.  My size was half the size of the travel(.4oz) so it won't last me super long but it will last awhile since you don't need a lot of product at once.

I know $42 is A LOT for a primer but I did some research and found a much cheaper product that could possible be a dupe. It's by L'Oreal and is only $13 at Ulta. It's called Studio Secrets Professional Color Correcting Primer and I haven't tried it (yet! I'm waiting until I use up my sample). It isn't a salicylic acid treatment but it is green which means its anti redness. It has mixed reviews but if you don't like it most stores will let you return it. Plus everyone has different skin types and you never know what will work and won't work!

I hope you enjoy the great posts I have coming up and feel free to leave suggestions down below. Also add me in your circles and share with your friends! I've had 840 page views so far! Thanks for that!

Random thoughts:

Lea Michelle's "Cannonball"

I will admit when Lea announced she was going to release a solo album I was pretty excited! I use to LOVE Glee (not so much now but that's another story). Her album Louder isn't due until March of 2014. She recently released her first single Cannonball. I like it! Its even better when she preformed it on Ellen. Go watch it now! If you haven't heard the single give it a listen!

Catching Fire REVIEW *WARNING SPOILERS*

(not my photos!)
Back in 8th grade I read the series. Fell in LOVE with the series. I saw the Hunger Games movie right when it came out and was slightly disappointed (the book is SO much better). Naturally when Catching Fire was about to come out, I reread C.F again. It is my least favorite book of the series (for what ever reason the middle book/movie is always my least favorite) Side note: Mockingjay is my favorite.

Thursday I went to an 8 o'clock showing of C.F. I LOVED THE MOVIE! I thought it stuck closer to the book than Hunger Games did. I also enjoyed the movie itself better than H.G. C.F was quicker paced and spent more time in the arena (which is where all the action is). I thought the casting was amazing! The cast chemistry (on and off screen) was perfect. Seriously just Youtube the interviews they WILL make you at least smile!

The movie is 2 hours and 26 minutes and I enjoyed every second. Of course there were slight differences between the book and movie. I will now tell you some of the ones I noticed and why I did/didn't like them. They aren't in any order just what floated into my head.

{SPOILERS}

Mags death was quicker- This was done to obviously to save time and it isn't necessarily a BIG deal but I like Mags and it would of been nice to see her the extra minutes (:

No mention of Haymitch's games or Maysilee Donner- Neither movie has had character background which I want! To save time again they just move from reaping to arena. I WOULD have liked to have seen Haymitch in the games and them watching the tapes just for the reason I think it affects the relationship and shows Haymitch as more than just a drunk mentor. Him becoming a victor would add more dimension to his character I think.

Beach scene- They didn't leave this scene out. I was just disappointed in the way they handled it. I was expecting more and more time spent on it. Again I'm sure it was for time reason. I KNOW they can't put everything in the movies but in the book its such a big scene and beautiful I think they could have handled it a little better.

Johanna Mason quote- In the book my FAVORITE quote by her is "I don't care if you're knocked up or not I'll still rip your throat out." I would of liked to see that in the movie just to show how Katniss and her don't get along. Plus I just like the quote in general. I DO like how Johanna was portrayed in the movie. Just a little thing I would of liked to see.

Mentioning the "baby"- In the movie they only mention the baby like once. Finnick is suppose to mention it as well as Peeta. I feel like after the initial news broke they never really brought it up again (hence the reason above). Again this isn't a big deal it just made it an easily forgettable detail.

Clues about a secret plan- In the book Plutarch Heavensbee shows Katniss a mockingjay watch and discreetly tells her clues about the arena and shows her that he is on her side (even though she doesn't know it at the time). I really wanted this part to be in the movie. Also is would helped people who haven't read the book a suspicious feeling. They also didn't use the bread signals that indicated how much time was left in the arena. I'm OK with them not including that but I still would of liked to see it just for showing how elaborate and planned this escape was.

Again Peeta's leg- It makes me SOOO angry they didn't have Peeta's leg injury in the H.G. Which also means it couldn't of been in this movie. Personally I think its a big detail that can explain a lot of why Peeta isn't very coordinated and why Katniss sees him as "injured".

Katniss sees what Peeta does during evalution- Katniss isn't suppose to see what Peeta does before she "hangs" Seneca Crane. I think it shows how alike Katniss and Peeta think and I would of liked it more if they had stuck to the book. Its not a huge deal once again just something I noticed and missed.

So that is all the things I saw/remembered. I'm sure there are more (feel free to leave them below). My favorite things were of course Peeta (he is perfect),
really all the characters were amazing. The ending was GREAT. I AM NOT ready for "hijacked" Peeta! I liked the way they handled the President Snow at Katniss's house scene. The costumes were GREAT. I realllly loved all the scenes Johanna was in. She just brings hilarious things to the scenes.

Overall you NEEEEED to go see the movie! It is so good even if you haven't read the books. If you haven't read the books you need to stop living under a rock and DO IT! Thanks for reading this I know it was long!

Yours Truly by Ariana Grande review

Ariana Grande, from Nickelodeon's Sam & Cat, debut album!
picture from Itunes

Very solid album! I'd give it an A. It has been compared to Mariah Carey and is classified as pop. Collabs with Big Sean, Mac Miller, Nathan Skyes, and MIKA are featured.

Track list:
Honeymoon Avenue
Baby I
Right there ft. Big Sean
Tattooed Heart
Lovin' it
Piano
Daydreamin'
The way ft. Mac Miller
You'll never know
Almost is never enough ft. Nathan Skyes
Popular Song ft. MIKA
Better left unsaid

My favorite songs are the first three and Lovin' it. My absolute favorite would have to be Right there! Its a nice bouncy song that got stuck in my head the whole day. The way came out as a single so its kind of played out and you've probably heard it already. I do believe Baby I came out as a single too but more recently. I would defiantly recommend this album if you love pop music!

Sorry it took so long to post this!

Grown Ups 2 Review!

It rhymed lol (:
movie poster!

I LOVED this movie! It was so funny. I laughed the whole way through basically in tears. I liked it better than the first. It also had Taylor Lautner and Alexander Ludwig which are nice to look at (: I do think this has more of a like teen/boy sense of humor so adults may not find it as funny? Also it has a lot of cringe-worthy humor(just a warning). My mom also saw it and she liked it but not better than the first and as much as me.
I love Adam Sandler and really want to meet him someday. I think this is a great summer movie so go see it. Let me know what you think down below.

Random thoughts:
I might work on my YouTube channel tomorrow!(heyitstay19 fyi)
I might do a review on newish music for the blog.
I'm really doubting I'll ever post my 1D concert experience (too many feels I think).

Book Review: Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

I read Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan.
photo from Amazon

Synopsis(from goodreads): “I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own

Review:
3.5 out of 5 stars
Likes: The way it was written between Dash & Lily's point of view, Lily's character, the concept of the book, quick read
Dislikes: Dash's character, the way it ended
The book was a little heavier than I thought it'd be (a little more thinking and emotional). I read Naomi and Eli's No Kiss List by David, and I felt the same way towards the book. It's kind of hard to put into words other than the book is just ok.

Movie Review: Monster's University

Monster's Inc is my favorite Disney movie! Sulley is my fave(: So, you could imagine my excitement for Monster's University. My mom surprised me by taking me the first day it came out. I LOVED the movie! Keep in mind it is kids movie so you should treat it as such. I'm a sucker for a good Disney movie. I loved this prequel as much as the original. I found it funnier than I thought I would. I also enjoyed the plot. I suggest you go see it! (I do not own these pictures.)
Sulley <3

Can't wait for the DVD. (:
